Vasse Felix was planted by Dr Tom Cullity in 1967 meaning that Vasse was the first vineyard and winery to be established in the Margaret River region. Intense, yet elegantly structured, it is the oldest serving wine in the region. 2007 was especially kind to those in the west while most other regions throughout Australia struggled through frost and high heat. The evidence can be tasted in this remarkable 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon that showcases the very best red varietal for the region expertly. With a seriously strong colour in the glass, the aromas and flavours of cassis and blueberry are obvious for all to see. Balanced with some background oak and firm, ripe tannins, this Margaret River Cabernet is one for the ages.

Blended from a selection of warmer climate Shiraz grape parcels drawn from premium vineyards, Bin 28 was introduced as one of the first Bin wines within the Penfolds range, and has since become an Australian classic. Intense, spicy dark berry fruits and an enticing yet balanced warmth and ripeness, without the influence of new oak. 18 years from vintage another remarkable wine.

eggplant parmigiana, basil and tomato sauce
The fruit for this wine was sourced largely from two of De Bortoli's own vineyards that have been producing Botrytis Semillon wines for several years. In the wake of showers throughout January which set in motion an early botrytis onset, the warm dry months of February and March impeded the momentum. Further rain just prior to Easter re-kindled the botrytis with harvest kicking off mid April and progressive harvesting over the ensuing 3 weeks.
A sweet white table wine that will compliment citrus based desserts such as Crepe Suzette with a delectable caramelised butter, sugar and orange liqueur sauce. Other desserts to enjoy with this wine could include Lemon Poached Pears or Limoncello Sorbet or the classic key Lime Pie just to name a few.
