Grant Burge Brut Pinot Chardonnay
Grant Burge, while normally known for full bodied reds, produce an exceptional sparkling here with an attractive nose of strawberry, stone fruit and biscuity notes leads to a richly flavoured, generous palate with a creamy mouth feel and beautifully crisp finish.

Entrée

Traditional beef lasagne

2012 Balnarring Winery (Quealy) Pinot Grigio

$10.00

* 2008 Wilson Vineyard Polish Hill RiverRiesling

$2.00

Balnarring Winery (Quealy) Pinot Grigio
A concentrated white wine, both powerful and lithe, and smells of rock pools, honey and pink grapefruit. There is a slight pink edge to the colour, attributed to errant Pinot Noir vines on site.
Wilson Polish Hill Riesling
Slightly toasty green apple and lemon barley with acacia florals and a backbone of minerally lime rind and chalky phenolics, good line and length but early developing for the region

Main

Beef cheeks with mash and peperonata
Rocket salad

* 2004 Tatachilla Partners Cabernet Sauvignon

$9.45

* 2001 Dorrien The Growers Shiraz

$13.00

Tatachilla Partners Cabernet Sauvignon
This opens with an earthy, funky 'old Southern Vales' aroma that takes us back to the good (or bad) old days. Plummy fruit is straightforward in flavour, and it has medium body and soft tannins. An old-worldy, meaty type of red, not squeaky-clean like most modern cab-shirazes, but it does have honest regional qualities.
Dorrien The Growers Shiraz
James Halliday says: Leading vineyards and skilled winemaking result in a juicy, medium-bodied palate, with a full range of shiraz flavours not intimidated by the alcohol levels.

Dessert

Chocolate tart with hazelnut praline

* 1995 Peter Lehman The King Port

$21.00

Peter Lehman The King Port
An exceptional Vintage Port made from Shiraz and Touriga Nacional. Opaque black crimson colour with very deep red hue. The nose is superb – an ecstatic sniff filled with the aroma of Christmas pudding, raisins, blackberry jam and very fine old brandy spirit. The palate is explosive – with superbly powerful flavours of liquorice, blackberry jam and velvet smooth brandy followed by a remarkably dry finish. A wonderful Portuguese inspired Vintage Port.
