2013 Pizzini Pinot Grigio King Valley

$21.00

* 2006 Tahbilk Viognier

$9.50

Pizzini Pinot Grigio
Another outstanding Pinot Grigio from Pizzini. Aromas of ripe pear lead the way in the bouquet and the palate is fresh with crisp, zippy acidity very true to the grigio style. Enjoy it with seafood.
Tahbilk Viognier
Alister Purbrick, the team at this Nagambie Lakes winery, and the sub-region appear to have an affinity with Rhone varietals. This has attractive, lifted apricot flavours that are persistent and deep; there's succulence and weighty viscosity on a multi-layered white

Main

slow braised beef cheek
creamy mash, glazed vegetables

*2001 Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz

Donated

* 2000 Tahbilk Shiraz

$14.00

Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz
A tightly structured wine with generous fruit characteristics matured for 13 months in American oak casks including those that held the previous vintage of Penfolds Grange.

Tahbilk Shiraz
This wine has been made using traditional Tahbilk techniques with fermentation taking place in open oak vats, then a period of maturation in French oak for eighteen months prior to bottling. The nose and palate show an intense mixture of blackberries and spice combined with plum and anise overtones whilst the finish is long and flavoursome, balanced with fine grape tannins.

Dessert

brandy chocolate mousse
raspberry coulis, crumbled honeycomb

* 1995 Seppelt G.R.12 Seppeltsfield Show Vintage Touriga

$9.20

Red Hill Estate (Campbells Rutherglen) Liqueur Muscat

$10.50

Seppeltsfield Show Vintage Touriga
A drier finish and the grape touriga underlines the point that this is an attempt at a more Portuguese style. It's still very fresh and vibrantly youthful, with a floral-peppery blend of fruit and spirit on the bouquet. It's soft and nicely balanced, and not tannic: a lovely drink right now, although it will age for a lot longer. Drink with blue cheese.
Red Hill Estate (Campbells Rutherglen) Liqueur Muscat
Blended and bottled at Red Hill Estate, this Muscat has been made by blending aged material from a number of vintages. Sourced from North Eastern Victoria, this is a fine example of the fruits of the region. It is a beautifully integrated blend in the traditional Muscat style offering a luscious, warm coffee/caramel palate and a rich satisfying finish.
