Winemaster's Sparkling Notes

Brown Brothers King Valley Prosecco
Boasting a delicate nose displaying apple and pear characters. While this wine retains the freshness and vibrancy that Prosecco is known for, the fruit was picked later to provide a softer, rounder palate full of crisp citrus notes.

Garlic bread.

Winemaster's White Wine Notes

Brockenchack Mackenzie William 1896 Riesling
Our Mackenzie William is named after the eldest grandson of Trevor and Marilyn Harch. Our Eden Valley Riesling is delicately hand-picked from our longstanding vines planted in the 1960s, 1980s, and from our cherished, deep rooted 1890s vines – thought to be some of the oldest in Australia.
This first Brockenchack wine, the Mackenzie William, is crafted from some of Australia's oldest Riesling vines, planted in 1896. The 2011 vintage features lime, citrus and floral aromas. The palate shows delicated minerality with a hint of sweetness and finishes with a tight, crisp acidity.

Winemaster's White Wine Notes

Willow Creek Pinot Gris
2018 produced an intensely aromatic pinot gris. Attractive notes of fresh pear, citrus and melon mingle pleasingly with subtle aromas of white blossom and warm spice. On the palate, fresh Anjou and candied pear flavours complement patisserie and ground almond. The luscious texture and generous length is balanced by a crisp grip to the finish.
This pinot gris can be cellared until 2021, but is ready for immediate enjoyment.

Seared prawns, salsa verde, caponata, citrus oil and vincotto.

Winemaster's Red Wine Notes

Craggy Range Gimblett Gravels Merlot
A blend of 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc this wine was matured for 18 months in French oak of which 31% was new. Opaque dark crimson red black colour with deep dark crimson red hue. The nose is closed upon first sniff but eventually yields aromas of violets, cedar, mulberry and dark cherry with a hint of spice. Medium weight and elegantly built, the palate displays flavours of mulberry and dark cherry followed by some cedar and a spicy back palate. Tightly knit with dry fine grained tannins that give the wine a very dry finish. Aftertaste of dark cherry, spice, cedar and earth.

Winemaster's Red Wine Notes

Curtis Limited Series Grenache
Deep dark purple. The nose exhibits aromas of ripe blackberry and dark plum followed by some liquorice and confectionary notes. Full bodied and possessing a plump texture the palate delivers rich juicy flavours of ripe blackberry, dark chocolates, liquorice and spice. Soft velvety tannins. Good depth with medium to long aftertaste of blackberry, dark chocolate and spice. Drink now to 15 years.
Curtis Family Vineyards sources fruit from a combination of owned vineyards and premium McLaren Vale growers. The blend of individual vineyard and sub-regional characteristics is the key to the resulting style. Sub regions are Blewitt Springs, McLaren Flat, Willunga and McLaren Vale. Wine was matured in oak barrels, ranging from new to 2 year oak, with a mixture of French and American oak.

Confit duck Maryland, onion tart, pea pureé, orange pureé, caramelised sweet potatoes and cointreau jus.

Winemaster's Port Notes

Chateau Fayau Cadillac - Sauterne
Like the great wines of Sauternes, Chateau Fayau depends upon the formation of a special mould, Botrytis Cinera, (Latin for Ashy Cluster) and like Sauternes only hand selected botrytis infected Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes are picked, which necessitates harvesting over several weeks. Brilliant golden brown colour with flavours of toffee and caramel. Outstanding length which finishes with classic dryness and then powers on with an aftertaste of honey and apricot. What a magnificent wine to demonstrate the benefits of aging white wine!

Sticky date pudding, crème anglaise and vanilla bean ice-cream.
